It was con-celebrated by two African, and Indian, and an American priest in French, English, and Arabic. I went forward for communion and experienced the powerful unity of Christians from all languages, nations, races, and cultures. The homily was from the Sermon on the Mount about loving your enemies, especially those within the Christian community with whom you have differences. It was a powerful experience. So you might try mass at a Catholic church along the way - strong independent Christian woman that you are! - especially if you find a Franciscan one. But as you say, there are many sacramental moments - communion moments - as you break bread and share wine with fellow pilgrims along the way.
